Valentine's Day Event

VALENTINE’S DAY IS FOR LOVERS!

Join Nancy Michaels as she Conducts
Listen to our Valentine's Day Broadcast
for 40+ Single Women on MatchGoneWrong.com

If you are a single woman age 40+, here's an opportunity to fall in love with yourself all over again.

If you’re sleeping single in a queen-size bed - stay tuned!

CONCORD, MA – Do you want to fall in love again? "Who doesn’t?", you ask. Right? Here’s an idea for you. Why not create a one-of-a-kind experience on how to fall back in love with yourself? Nancy Michaels, creator of MatchGoneWrong.com, will be in America’s most romantic city – San Francisco – on (you guessed it), Thursday, February 14th -- to celebrate Valentine’s Day with herself and other close single female friends and colleagues. AND, she invites YOU to join her for her second radio webcast that evening!

This obsession with being part of a couple may be starting to change. In a recent article in the New York Times, Regina Barreca, a feminist professor at the University of Connecticut, citing an article from the international press syndicate, wrote, "Most single Japanese women prefer not to marry, and believe they can live happily alone for the rest of their life." In her article, Barreca also revealed that new information, recently collected from a poll taken by one of Japan’s conservative daily papers, points to a "trend among single women who no longer attach social stigma to choosing the single life."

Well, what do you know? The same seems to be true in the US, where American women are now likely to spend more years of their lives single than with a partner. It seems there are more women today age 40 and over who have never been married, or are divorced or widowed, than ever before in the history of the United States.

"Although many single woman still feel a need to justify their solo state, don’t feel sorry for us yet," says Nancy Michaels, creator of www.matchgonewrong.com. "Many American women today are also opting for single status and are preferring it to the alternative of the legal strictures exemplified by marriage."

So, don’t let Valentine’s Day get the best of you, if you’re not part of a couple. Actually, you’re in luck, because you can join Nancy Michaels and other single women who want to spend some quality time contemplating ’08, and what may –or may not -- be romantically in store in the New Year. Since launching her website in December of 2007, and hosting her first radio webcast on December 8th, Michaels has received many questions from single women and men alike on the ups and downs of going it solo post 40. To get a sneak peak at some highlights of the December 8th radio cast, go to www.matchgonewrong.com, where participants referred to the program as "Dr. Laura meets The View."

From 8 pm – 10pm EST on Valentine’s Day evening, Nancy will again be on call to discuss the various ways that emotionally mature women are dealing with going it solo post 40, and why we’ve chosen – or been forced to make -- that decision. Hot topics for the evening are how to:

  • Celebrate traditional "couple" dates, like Valentine’s Day, alone or with other singles
  • Remain positive and engaged during these "couples holidays"
  • Look at the bright and positive side of being single
  • View your single status as an asset and be joyful about going it alone

In addition, other topics will be discussed, as they come in from participants and our panel of single women over the age of 40.

But right now, you may go to www.matchgonewrong.com/blog to log in and voice your opinion as to why you’re sleeping single in a bed fit for a Queen. Nancy may use (or refer to) your ideas on her radio webcast!
